Educators in the Workplace

June 29, 2017

Thirty educators started four days of area business and industry tours and presentations Monday as part of Indian Hills Community College’s “Educators In The Workplace” initiative in conjunction with Tod Faris and Opportunity Squared, IHCC’s “Get Connected” program and area school districts.

“Educators In The Workplace” is designed to get K-12 educators, counselors, administrators and others out into the real business and industry world where they learn first-hand the types of skilled workers those companies will need in the future.

Luann Eakins, IHCC coordinator, High School Programs, during the Monday afternoon tour at C&C Machining in Centerville, said the 30 participants this week are elementary teachers, principals, guidance counselors and substitute teachers from Mt. Pleasant, Centerville, Albia, Sigourney and other areas.
