The neoclassical building, built in 1910, contains a display of Indian relics in the lobby. The upper stories contain 4 murals painted by C.E. Rang of Chicago in 1912. There are also large oil paintings of Lydia Huntley Sigourney and Chief Keokuk and a stained glass dome. |

The Historical Society houses a museum of Keokuk County artifacts and a genealogy department with cemetery records and obituaries. They also have photographs, quilts, books, maps, and antiques on display throughout the building. |
