I am a proud native of Sigourney, Iowa. I graduated from Sigourney High School in 2010 and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College, where I earned an AA in Business Administration. During my time there, I had the privilege of leading the college’s volleyball team to a 7th-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament. Afterward, I continued my education at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. While at UNI, I stayed actively involved by participating in Women in Business events, Accounting Club recruiting activities, and playing for the university’s club volleyball team.
Since graduation, I have gained experience in the accounting field, working in the public sector with TDT CPAs & Advisors in Mount Pleasant and West Des Moines, and now in the private sector as a Sales Accountant at Sinclair Tractor in Sigourney. Alongside my accounting career, I’ve remained involved in the community by working at various restaurants and participating in city events.
In July 2021, I moved my family to Sigourney and was soon approached to run for City Council in that year’s election. I currently serve as a member of the Finance Committee and the Parks and Recreation Committee, and I am the Chair of the Sewer Committee. I am dedicated to ensuring that Sigourney remains a wonderful place to live and an excellent environment to raise a family.
When I’m not working shifts at the restaurant, attending city committee meetings, or cheering on my nieces and nephews at sporting events, I enjoy spending relaxing time with my husband, Matthew, and our three beloved dogs: Dobby, Gin, and Eggroll.
